The Space

A threshold you cross.

Obsidian is a curated, vetted circle of high-level men reconstructing themselves without alcohol, drugs, or other substances. This is not an addiction recovery program. It is deliberate, deep inner work for men who are used to being ‘on’ all the time and are ready to stop running from themselves. Some men arrive already paying for it. Others arrive before the bill comes due, while it is still contained. The work is the same. The earlier you begin, the less there is to reconstruct, and the greater the capacity you build for everything that follows.

The arc

A four-month, eight-phase initiation.

The only requirement is your full commitment.

You begin together and you complete together. From the day the cohort opens, the eight phases move on a shared rhythm, one phase every two weeks so the work has time to land. Every phase builds on the last. The journey from the Current Reality Assessment to Mastery is deliberate, grounded, and lasting, and no man walks it alone.

The rhythm

The structure that supports your full reconstruction arc.

A four-month initiation

An intentional container designed to anchor your commitment, create momentum, and hold you through the ebbs and flows as you do the work.

The open circle

We gather twice a month, the whole cohort, every man in one room. Honest sharing, practice, hot seats, and wisdom circles, we move through the work together.

Weekly accountability

A three-minute check-in that holds the focus, the momentum, and your commitment.

The hot seat

Focused work with the facilitator and witnessed by the circle. One man at a time. To build the capacity, you must move the edges.

The practice library

Access to breathwork, meditation, and depth practices from the Capacity app.

The commitment

A four-month reconstruction.

One decision. Eight phases.

Obsidian is a single, deliberate commitment: four months, eight phases, paid in full. Not a subscription, not a program you graduate from and forget. We begin together and we complete together, in a vetted room of serious men. One commitment, to yourself and your legacy, and to the capacity it builds in you.

$7,500for the four-month commitment

The Reconstruction

A four-month initiatory path. Eight phases, access to the open circles, hot seats, weekly accountability, and the Capacity practice library. We begin together and complete together.

If you're wondering what your substance use is already costing you, or potentially costing you, let me run the numbers for you: a month at an exclusive private facility runs $40,000 to $500,000. Another month spent running on empty in your business carries bigger financial ripples than all of that combined. A potential divorce, with half your net worth on the table. The tens of thousands spent at a club you have no memory of. You do not have to wait for the crisis to make this worth it. The earlier you step in, before the rupture, before the collapse, the less there is to rebuild. Obsidian is $7,500, and it may save you millions down the road.

Why trust this

The ground this stands on.

The man holding the room

Sam has not had a drink since November 2012, and by his own account has never once wanted one. He rebuilt himself the hard way, through six rounds of rehab, cancer twice, and years of the deeper work that finally moved it: men's work, somatic and nervous-system work, and breathwork.

He does this work with principals, founders, executives, and athletes, the men used to being the one everyone else leans on.

The founding cohort

You will not find testimonials on this page yet, and that is deliberate. This is the first cohort. You are not buying a proven name with a waiting list; you are one of the first men in the room, at the founding rate of $7,500, held for this cohort alone before it is set higher for everyone who follows. The first men in carry the lowest price and the most direct access to Sam.

Confidentiality

The Promise and The Standard

Membership is fully vetted and contained. Nothing leaves the space. Your journal is yours alone. Your private messages stay between the two of you, unreadable even to the facilitator. Confidentiality is built into the structure, it's not theoretical.

Who this is for

For the man who knows he's ready to change.

This is for you if

  • You operate at a high level and alcohol, drugs, or other substances are quietly chipping away at your infrastructure, whether the cost is already visible or you can just feel it building.
  • You are still high-functioning and contained, but you know where this road goes if you keep looking away.
  • You are done trying to manage it and ready to reconstruct the foundation underneath.
  • You want depth and a circle of serious men, not a crowd, to do this with.
  • You are doing this for yourself, not because everyone else thinks you need to.
  • You are not happy with the man you see in the mirror.

This is not for you if

  • You are looking for an addiction recovery program, a sponsor, or a twelve-step room.
  • You want to stay anonymous more than you want to change.
  • You want a quick fix rather than doing the real work.
  • You are not ready to tell the truth.
  • You are completely content with your life and there is absolutely no desire to change anything.
Sam Morris

Who holds this

I'm Sam Morris. I work with high-achieving men reconstructing themselves from the consequences of alcohol or other substance use, and men who can see those consequences coming and choose to get ahead of them. My clients are principals, founders, executives, athletes, and entrepreneurs; the men who are used to being the one everyone else leans on.

I know this from the inside. On November 21, 2012, it was four in the morning and I was sitting alone at my kitchen table, staring at a pile of cocaine and a bottle of rum. I had spent fifteen years trying to fill a void that my tennis career left, a steady and then rapid slide into heavy drinking and substance use, and all the damage that came with it. Between thirty-three and thirty-eight I went to rehab six times, survived oral cancer twice, and lived through a suicide attempt. That morning, all I knew was that I could not continue down that path and that things had to change. I had to change.

I have not had a drink since, and, honestly, I have never even wanted one. What changed everything was that I started looking at the parts of me I had spent the better part of thirty-eight years looking away from. I went deep into men's work. Somatic and nervous-system work. Breathwork. The deeper practices, carefully guided.

That experience and the work I did to reconstruct myself is the basis of the work I now do with others. Not talk therapy, not sober coaching, not addiction recovery. Reconstruction, from the nucleus out: your physical and emotional body, your nervous system, your identity, your integrity. The work done on the inner nucleus is where the foundations of true capacity are built.

Obsidian is where I do that work in a circle. A vetted room of serious men, held in full confidence, moving through the deep work together, cohort by cohort.
